Residents in these suburbs should place flood-damaged personal items, furnishing, appliances and building materials in the front of their yard towards the kerb for collection. Council will begin collections once roads have been assessed as safe.

Please keep your household waste – especially food waste – separate. Place these items in your red-lid or green-lid bin.

All other suburbs

Council is not conducting kerbside collection of hard waste or green waste from other suburbs.

Residents are reminded to only place household waste into bins. Do not put building materials, damaged furniture, soil or mud into red-lid or green-lid bins.

Waste can be taken to the Portsmith or Gordonvale Transfer Stations. The Babinda and Smithfield Transfer Stations are closed due to flooding.
