Swearing-in of new Cairns Mayor and Councillors

Cairns Regional Council will officially welcome the Mayor and Councillors who will serve the community for the next four years on Thursday 11 April.

Elected representatives will make their Declaration of Office at the Cairns Performing Arts Centre, with official proceedings from 6pm to 7pm.

At the event, Mayor-Elect Amy Eden and the nine elected Divisional Councillors will be sworn in by CEO Mica Martin as the region’s elected representatives for the new four-year term.

The public is invited to attend, with doors opening at 5pm for a 6pm start. The Declaration of Office event will also be livestreamed via Council’s YouTube channel and Council’s Facebook page.

Mayor: Amy Eden

Division 1: Brett Moller

Division 2: Matthew Tickner

Division 3: Cathy Zeiger

Division 4: Trevor Tim

Division 5: Rob Pyne

Division 6: Kristy Vallely

Division 7: Anna Middleton

Division 8: Rhonda Coghlan

Division 9: Brett Olds

Post-Election Meeting including appointment of Deputy Mayor  

The Post-Election Meeting, which will include the appointment of the Deputy Mayor, will be held on Friday 12 April at the Council Chambers at 9am.

Other business to be addressed at the meeting will include the date for future Ordinary Meetings of Council.

The public is invited to attend the meeting, which will be held in the Council Chambers on Level 3 of the Spence Street Administration Building.

The meeting can be viewed via live stream on Council’s website.
