Continued support for Cairns Show

Council has endorsed $70,000 of funding through its Community Partnerships Grant to assist with the staging of the 2023 Cairns Show.

Next year’s Cairns Show will be staged from 17-19 July and is expected to attract about 70,000 people, making it the largest regional show in Australia.

The event is expected to attract more than 13,700 intrastate visitors and deliver a $1.2 million impact to the local economy.

Council support consists of $45,000 cash and $25,000 in-kind support for the Cairns Agricultural Pastoral and Mining Association (Cairns Show Association).
