Operations and budget

Cairns Regional Council operates a budget of more than $312 million (2020/21) and a Capital Works Program worth $181 million. It is a significant local economic driver and is also one of the region's largest employers with a workforce of approximately 1250 staff.

Management structure

Council's six Directorates and their individual Directors, headed by the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), work together to implement adopted Council policy and deliver the Operational Plan.

Daily operational responsibilities rest with the Executive Leadership Team, headed by the Chief Executive Officer.
