Council meetings, agendas & minutes
Ordinary meetings are held on the fourth Wednesday of each month (unless an alternative date has been advertised) and are chaired by the Mayor.
Council operates five Standing Committees:
Committee meetings are held monthly. Water and Waste, Infrastructure, Community Services and Planning and Economic Committee meetings are held on the second Wednesday of each month (unless otherwise advertised). Governance Committee meetings are held on the third Wednesday of each month (unless otherwise advertised).
Note: The Planning and Economic Committee was established on 13 March 2013. Minutes and agendas for the former Planning and Sustainability Committee and Economic Development Committee can be found in the Archive.
Council invites submissions from groups or individuals wishing to make a formal deputation to Council. Deputations will be held on Wednesday 11 December 2013 and request forms must be lodged by midday Thursday 5 December 2013.

Special meetings may be held at different times. In accordance with the requirements of the Local Government Act, two days written notice must be given to all Councillors of the date, time and object of the meeting. All Councillors are required to attend special meetings.
Meetings open to public
Meetings are open to the public unless a closed session is declared. Agenda outlines are made available to the public at the time of release of the agendas to Councillors. This information is accessible online or from Council's Customer Service Centres.
On meeting days, all open session reports are available on this website and can also be viewed at Council's Spence Street Customer Service Centre.

The archive contains agendas and minutes for Cairns Regional Council's Ordinary, Committee and Special meetings. You can also view historic records of meetings, agendas and minutes from the former Cairns City Council and Douglas Shire Council (pre-2008).
A number of Advisory Committees operate to provide advice and recommendations to Council.
