Big Summer Read
Turn Pages Into Prizes This Summer!
This summer, challenge your child to discover new stories, explore new worlds and get rewarded for reading. Big Summer Read is a free summer reading challenge for children and young people. From 1 December 2026 to 31 January 2027, participants can track their reading, complete activities and go in the draw to win fantastic prizes.
Did you know that children can lose some of the reading skills and confidence they've built during the school year if they stop reading over the holidays? Just a few minutes of reading each day can help keep young minds active and make the return to school a little easier.
Whether your child reads one book or one hundred, every page helps build confidence, creativity and a lifelong love of reading, giving them a great head start for the year ahead.
Free to join. Great prizes to be won. Summer-long reading fun!
