Mobility

CPAC is a fully accessible venue with access seating available upon booking.

Please let us know, when you are booking your tickets, if you require seating at the end of a row, need to avoid stairs, or wish to remain in a wheelchair. We will then find the most suitable seating options for you.

An accessible lift is available for transport to the first, second, and third floors. The lift is located near the restrooms in the centre of the foyer.

Accessible Seating

There are multiple options for accessible seating in the Theatre and Studio. Please refer the seating maps for the Theatre and the Studio in the Round or in Concert mode

To book accessible seating (wheelchair or seating options for patrons who are Blind or have low vision) call Box Office on 1300 855 835 (Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm and Saturday 8.30am to 1pm) or visit the box office in person to discuss your needs with one of our friendly ticketing experts.

Accessible Toilets

CPAC has four unisex accessible bathrooms. Two are located in the Foyer (one near the lift and another near the box office). One is located on Level 1 (near the lift) and one located on Level 3 (near the lift).

In addition, there are ambulant toilets in the toilets located in the Foyer and on Level 3.

Assistance Animals

Assistance animals trained to assist people with disabilities are welcome. Please notify the Ticketlink staff at the time of your booking if you are visiting CPAC accompanied by your support animal to ensure appropriate seating is allocated.

Companion Cards

Many events hosted at CPAC support the Queensland Government's Companion Card Program which promotes fair ticketing for people who have a disability and a lifelong need for 'attendant care support' to attend venues and activities.

Access to the Companion Card program is only available to Companion Card holders when booking tickets in person, or calling the Box Office on 1300 855 835. The cardholder must provide their Companion Card details when making bookings and present the valid ID card to receive their (free) ticket/s from the Box Office at the CPAC venue one hour prior to the event.

Look for 'Companion Card accepted' on the event pages or check with the ticketing staff to determine if the card will be accepted for the event you want to attend.

How it works

Cardholders present their card when purchasing tickets at participating businesses and receive a free ticket to be used by their companion.

  • Businesses affiliated with the program absorb the costs associated with the companion ticket
  • The companion ticket is exempt from all booking fees
  • The program is not a discount scheme, concession or benefit.

For further information about the Companion Card, and for details on how to apply for a card, visit the Queensland Government website.

Assisted Listening

CPAC has a range of assisted listening options in both the Theatre and the Studio using the Auracast system. Transmitters (if required) may be obtained from the Box Office. Please ask one of our friendly staff for assistance.

Auracast

Auracast-enabled hearing devices can connect directly to the signal via your device settings and do not require a transmitter (please refer to your Audiologist for advice and instructions specific to your device)

Hearing Loop

Hearing devices with the Telecoil function can connect to the signal via your device settings (T-switch) and the hearing loop (provided). The hearing loop connects directly to the top of the transmitter. (Please refer to your Audiologist for advice and instructions specific to your device)

Headphones

For those without the above devices who may wish to amplify the sound, you can connect to the transmitter via headphones, either those provided or your own wired headphones. These connect directly to the top of the transmitter.

Further information on the Auracast system can be found here.

Relaxed Performances

Some of our shows are classified as Relaxed Performances. These focus on relaxing or adapting the theatre environment. The aim is to provide inclusive options for all to enjoy, while maintaining the creative integrity of the show.

Visual Stories

Visual Stories are designed for people who wish to be familiar with what to expect prior to attending  performances. View our CPAC Visual Story click here.

Crying Room

CPAC Theatre offers access to a crying room; a soundproof space where you can still experience the event via one-way glass and with live audio feed. Traditionally designed for people to take babies or young children to reduce disturbance to other patrons while still allowing the accompanying adult to watch the performance, the room is available for anyone to use who may benefit from taking a break from the main theatre space. The volume of the audio feed can be adjusted. The room has a small number of chairs, bean bags and other sensory aids. Ask an usher if you would like assistance to access this room.
