Cairns Festival is seeking expressions of interest from artists and creative practitioners to present in 2024. The 10-day festival seeks to deliver an arts and cultural program that is heaving with vibrancy, progressiveness, collaboration and celebrates the deeply unique region of Far North Queensland and its diverse kaleidoscope of people.

The brief

Our community has an insatiable appetite for creative excellence, and we want to enhance the festival menu with work from a diverse range of artists and creative practitioners who are thirsty to offer something fresh, bold, original, or transformative. Through arts and culture, we want to showcase and celebrate unique stories that are wrapped in authenticity and reflective of our people, lifestyle and environment. We want to put front and centre artists with amazing skills in music, dance, visual arts, comedy, circus, cabaret, theatre, puppetry, projection, film, literature, workshops, roving, …everything!

Your application

Your application should provide as much information and detail as possible! We want to see examples of your work; this might include concept or design drawings, links to social media, website, marketing, technical specifications or riders, budgets, information about location, target audience, relevance, resources, etc – we want to see YOU and the clear vision of your IDEA!

Dates

The program and planning of a ten-day festival are rather big projects with a million moving parts, and this may mean some slight variations to the schedule below may occur. Please be patient if enquiring about your application, and rest assured the festival team are on it!
