El Moth

El Moth is an Australian reggae band formed in Melbourne in 2008. Originating from country backgrounds, the members relocated to Melbourne in the late 2000s and became known for their dynamic performances at house parties, park gatherings, beach events, and bush parties.

Their music blends reggae with elements of funk and rock, creating a lively and eclectic sound. In 2013, El Moth released their debut EP, Life's a Ride, which features tracks like "Everyday Is a Weekend" and "Fisherman." The EP received positive reviews, with Beat Magazine noting that it showcases the band's ability to craft engaging reggae music that transcends stereotypes.

Over the years, El Moth has been recognized as one of Melbourne's premier party bands, celebrated for their energetic live shows and unique fusion of musical styles. They have performed at various festivals across Victoria, including Folk Rhythm and Life, Apollo Bay, The Hills Are Alive, Rainbow Serpent, Strawberry Fields and Cool Summer. Additionally, they completed a nine-month residency at The Evelyn, culminating in a sold-out final performance.

After a few years hiatus, various band members have found themselves living in Far North Queensland where they have reformed the band and started writing and performing new material.
