Tobacco Laws in Queensland include smoking bans for indoor and outdoor public places, as well as tough restrictions on the advertising, display and promotion of tobacco products. Changes from 1 September 2016 • no smoking within 5 metres of public transport waiting points such as bus stops, taxi ranks, and ferry terminals • no smoking within 10 metres of playing and viewing areas during organised under-18 sporting events • no smoking within 10 metres of skate parks • smoke free buffer increases to 5 metres at all non-residential building entrances • tobacco products cannot be sold from temporary retail outlets • local government can ban smoking in any public space not covered by a state-wide smoking bans. Organised under-18 sporting events From 1 September 2016, smoking is banned within 10 metres of viewing and playing areas at organised under-18 sporting events. The ban also applies during training and at any intervals or breaks in play. The coverage of the ban includes the sporting ground or playing area, the viewing area for a water sport, public seating at the grounds and any other area reserved for use by the competitors and the officials. This also includes a 10 metre non-smoking buffer zone from all of these locations. An organised under-18 sporting event is one that is arranged in advance and is conducted by a professional or amateur sporting body or education institution according to established rules. Job Opportunity for a qualified Tennis Coach Woree Tennis Club is looking for a highly motivated, reliable and energetic coach who enjoys working with children and adults to operate out of our tennis centre. The club consists of 4 synthetic grass courts of which two were resurfaced in 2015. This is an excellent opportunity for a self-employed operator providing incentive to build on an already successful business. The courts are currently used by the club on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday nights with limited private bookings outside of these times. Coaching programs can be run Monday to Friday in the mornings and afternoons and weekends if desired. It is hoped the successful applicant will start at the beginning of the second school term in 18th April 2017. The primary responsibilities of this position include: · Working extremely well with children of all ages and tennis playing abilities · As an active club member be willing to assist with club initiatives · ANZ Hot Shots program · Tennis Hot Shots Match Play · Squad training · Fitbit Cardio Tennis program · Private lessons The mandatory requirements of the position include: · Junior Development (Level 1) Coaching Certification · Tennis Australia coach membership and be able to provide proof of adequate qualifications and insurance · Current Working with Children Check – Blue Card · First Aid certification The current coach is leaving the area after establishing a successful business here for the past 4 years.
