Each year during Queensland Seniors Week, Cairns Regional Council hosts events and activities to celebrate our community's young-at-heart.
2019 Positive Ageing Fair Program
Let’s look at ageing from all perspectives!
60+ stalls will showcase all there is in and around Cairns for senior residents to enjoy.
On the day there'll be - ‘Myth Busting’ workshops, ‘Hands-on’ workshops, musical performances, novelty races, and entertainment.
In honour of the novelty races there will be with fashions on the field prizes to be won, so dust off your fascinator and flap caps and get ready for a fun day.
This is a free event for seniors and carers. If you have tickets to attend the Fillies and Fellas Lunch or the Tea Time Treats please remember to bring your tickets with you on the day. No ticket, no entry.
Free tea, coffee and water will be available in the Cairns Regional Council Water Café where you can sit back and enjoy the live music or pat a puppy.
- Parking attendants will be onsite to direct you.
- We expect over 1000 guests all traveling by car or bus so please ensure you park where allocated so everyone can enjoy the day. Golf cart trips will be available for those needing a little extra help getting from the carpark to the venue.
- Buses and groups are welcome. Please head to the back of house entrance to the left of the main gates for drop off and turn around points for buses.

Celebrate Seniors Week on Friday 23 August by spending the day at the Positive Ageing Fair to be held at the Cannon Park Racetrack, Woree.
Stallholders will provide information and services relevant to ageing seniors. If you are interested in having a stall download the application form. Unconventional and creative ideas encouraged.

Parts of the fair are ticketed (without cost) due to the capacity of the activity. Tickets, therefore, are available for both the lunch and the Tea Time musical theatre performances.
The venue offers friendly access for wheelchairs and walkers and there is ample free parking. Golf cart trips will be available for those needing a little extra help getting from the carpark to the venue. Buses and groups are welcome.
