Green waste received through the recent free drop-off period has been shredded and will be made available from Council’s waste transfer stations for use on domestic gardens.
Take advantage of Council's free shredded green waste offer until 20 May 2019 at:
- Portsmith and Gordonvale Transfer Stations: 7 days, 8.30am to 5.15pm
- Smithfield Transfer Station: Monday-Saturday 7am to 5.15pm, Sunday 9am to 5.15pm
- Babinda Transfer Station: Friday, Sunday, Monday 8:30am to 4:45pm
NOTE: Domestic cars, utilities and/or trailers and light trucks (up to GVM 4 tonnes) only. Normal charges apply for disposal of any other waste.
Please note that mulch consists of shredded green waste that has not been cured and is not to Australian Standard (AS4454-2012). Quality cannot be guaranteed and Council does not assume any liability from the use of the product.. Mulch is for domestic use only and can be collected via utility, trailer or light truck up to 4 tonnes maximum GVM.
