Plan - food and alcohol

Serving food at your event brings with it certain obligations. Council has Information and training about food safety.  You may be required to apply for a food permit, (including but not limited to):

There are two things to think about with regard to alcohol:

  • Consumption of alcohol in public spaces is prohibited unless the event complies with liquor licencing regulations and has the appropriate permit in place
  • Sale of alcohol on Council land – you must apply for a Liquor Licence through the Office of Liquor and Gaming Regulation or use a supplier that can utilise their existing Liquor Licence

Council needs to sign off on these applications, and make any relevant comments, before you lodge them with the Office of Liquor and Gaming Regulation. Council’s General Policy on Liquor Licensing and Adult Entertainment Permits ( PDF, 0.03 MB ) contains some of the things that might trigger the need for a Liquor Licence.
