As the owner and operator of the Copperlode Falls Dam, Council has a legislative requirement to have an Emergency Action Plan (EAP) in place to protect our community and visitors in the unlikely event of a dam related emergency. As a result of this plan, the installation of the Copperlode Falls Dam Outdoor Warning Stations is programmed for April 2019 and is proposed to be completed by the end of June 2019, subject to favourable weather conditions.

Nine Outdoor Warning Stations will be installed on public land at various locations throughout the Redlynch Valley and Brinsmead areas. Construction noise and some dust associated with the work may be experienced during working hours but will be kept to a minimum where possible. Traffic management will be in place where construction activities affect vehicle and/or pedestrian movements. There will be no impact to your services.

Working hours will typically be between 7am and 6pm, Monday to Friday, and 7am to 4pm on Saturday. Any afterhours work being undertaken will be on an “as required” basis.

Should you require further information on the above works, please contact Cairns Regional Council’s Customer Service Centre on 1300 69 22 47 or find out more information on the Copperlode Falls Dam Emergency Action Plan.
