  • Description: Footpath renewal in front of the Cairns Botanic Gardens

Footpath renewal works are programmed along the Collins Avenue frontage of the Cairns Botanic Gardens.

The existing paved path will be replaced with a 2 metre wide exposed aggregate footpath.

Works will also include improving the main entrance, garden beds at key entry points and pedestrian connections at the McCormack Street intersection.

During works, pedestrian detours will be in place and there will be temporary car parking loss. As works progress, half of the bus zone will also have to be temporarily closed at times. If visiting the Botanic Gardens, please use alternative entry points.

Please observe and obey traffic controllers and signs advising the changes to normal traffic conditions. Short delays may be experienced.

Council thanks you for your patience during this time. For further information, please email feedback@cairns.qld.gov.au.

This project is funded by the Queensland Government's Works for Queensland program.
