Bus stop improvements are programmed for the southbound bus stop near 23 Clifton Rd, Clifton Beach.

These improvements are part of a broader Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) Compliance Program of Works across the Cairns region to improve accessibility for patrons using the bus service.

Works include upgrading the current bus stop by relocating the J-pole and bin, constructing a footpath link between the bus stop and a new kerb ramp for the driveway to the tennis courts, as well as changes to the existing kerb alignment and line marking to delineate the bus zone. The existing shelter and seating will remain.

Works are programmed to start on FRIDAY 9 AUGUST 2019, weather permitting, between the hours of 7am and 5pm Monday to Friday (Saturdays if required).

During works there may be disruptions such as noise and dust; however, these will be kept to a minimum. It is anticipated that works will take approximately 2 weeks to complete.
