Works are programmed to start on Monday 7 December 2020, with all works expected to take approximately 7 weeks to complete, weather permitting.
The changes will involve:
|Scott Street (from Severin St to Draper St)||Swapping the location of the current Bus Zone and St Augustine's College “Stop Drop Go” zone to create a longer “Stop Drop Go” area and improve traffic flow - involves road shoulder sealing, formalising car parking bays, new concrete medians and modifications to existing concrete medians, and line marking.|
|Draper Street (from Scott St to Loeven St)||Removal of some existing landscaped islands and the zebra crossing located adjacent to the St Augustine's entrance with pedestrians directed to use the signalised crossing at the Draper and Scott Streets intersection - an additional 21 car parking bays will be created. Car parking bays will also be moved closer to the traffic lanes to deter illegal double parking.|
Loeven Street (from Draper St to Severin St)
|A new one-way west arrangement will be introduced in Loeven Street to ease traffic congestion and provide a safer school environment. - includes a non-stop 2 minute “Stop Drop Go” for St Joseph's during the AM and PM school drop-off times (8am - 9am and 2.30pm - 3.30pm), as well as additional short term car parking and a dedicated bike lane.|
Please observe and obey traffic controllers and signs advising the changes to normal traffic conditions, and follow detours as sign posted.
Council appreciates your patience and cooperation during this time.
