Project update

This project is approximately 85% complete.

Council appreciates your patience and cooperation during this time.

Stormwater drainage works are programmed for Freshwater. This project involves the construction of new underground stormwater drains along the road shoulder of:

  • Morris Street;
  • Petersen Street; and
  • Blue Hills Crescent.

New stormwater inlet pits will also be constructed at various locations along the new drainage network.

Some vegetation removal between property no. 111 Petersen St and 4-6 Blue Hills Crescent will be required to be able to undertake this work. This vegetation removal is being minimised as much as possible.

During the works program, there will temporary access disruptions to property driveways and times when vehicles will not be able to be parked on the northern road shoulder. There may also be short disruptions to water supply and this will be reinstated as soon as possible.

To enable the cross road drainage works to be completed, a full road closure of Petersen St will be required during the works program. This road closure is estimated to be required for 2-3 days. There will also be short time when Blue Hills Crescent will have to partially closed (near property no. 4-6).

This project is anticipated to start on Monday 26 August 2019. Works will commence in Morris Street first, then progress to Petersen Street and Blue Hills Crescent.

The project is expected to take approximately 14 weeks to complete, weather permitting.

Council appreciates your patience and cooperation during this time. If you have any concerns or would like further information about this project, please call Council on (07) 4044 3303 or email
