The following works are programmed for FOREST GARDENS BOULEVARD, on FRIDAY, 30 OCTOBER 2020 (weather permitting):
- Type of work: Concrete works associated with the bus stop improvement activities at Stop # 750276
- Duration: Approximately 1 hour to complete, between 8am – 9am
During construction, there may be temporary disruptions such as noise and dust however, we will minimise inconveniences wherever possible. A temporary road closure of the inbound lane of Forest Gardens Boulevard, between the Murgatroyd Rd > George Cannon Dr > Benjamina St > Forest Gardens Blvd roundabout and the Sawpit St > Forest Gardens Blvd > Madigans Dr roundabout, is required.
Motorist will not be able to turn into Forest Gardens Blvd from George Cannon Dr as it will be temporarily closed – please follow detours as sign posted. Access to George Cannon Dr from Forest Gardens Blvd will still be open.
Please observe and obey traffic controllers and signs advising the changes to normal traffic conditions and follow detours as sign posted.

Bus stop improvements are programmed for Forest Gardens Blvd, leading into the Forest Gardens Blvd > Madigan Dr > Sawpit St roundabout.
These improvements are part of a broader Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) Compliance Program of Works across the Cairns region to improve accessibility for patrons using the bus service.
Works include constructing a new concrete boarding point, new barrier kerbing and installing signage. New line marking will also be undertaken to delineate the bus zone.
Works are programmed to start during the week of 12 OCTOBER 2020, weather permitting, between the hours of 7am and 5pm Monday to Friday (Saturdays if required).
During works there may be disruptions such as noise and dust; however, these will be kept to a minimum. It is anticipated that works will take approximately 4 weeks to complete.
