Bus stop improvements are programmed for the ENDEAVOUR RD stops, eastbound between property no’s 40 Endeavour Rd and 1 Haycock St and westbound between property no’s. 31 to 35 Endeavour Rd.

These improvements are part of a broader Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) Compliance Program of Works across the Cairns region to improve accessibility for patrons using the bus service.

Changes to the eastbound stop involves the removal of an existing island, constructing new concrete islands, the construction of a new boarding point with access ramp, a new shelter structure, signage as well as road pavement improvement works. Changes to the westbound stop will see the construction of a new boarding point with access ramp, new hardstand, fencing and a bus shelter structure. Line marking will be installed at both locations to delineate the bus zones.

Works are programmed to start on Monday, 24 August 2020, weather permitting, between the hours of 7am and 5pm Monday to Friday (Saturdays if required).

It is anticipated to take approximately 2 weeks to complete however there will be a need for return visits to install the shelter structures at a later date.
