Create a glowing wet-felted lamp using merino wool, handmade silk papers and fibres in this relaxed, beginner-friendly, hands-on creative workshop.
Discover the creative possibilities of wet felting while making your own beautiful illuminated artwork. Participants will use fine merino wool, handmade coloured tussah silk papers, textured white mulberry paper and lustrous silk fibres to create a translucent decorative covering for a supplied electric table lamp.
The featured jellyfish lamp demonstrates one creative possibility. Participants may take inspiration from marine life, tropical botanicals or flowing organic forms, or develop their own abstract design using the available colours and materials.
Clear demonstrations and individual guidance will be provided throughout this beginner-friendly workshop. Each participant will leave with a unique, functional lamp created by hand.All specialist materials, the electric lamp and bulb are included.
