In 2021, Cairns Regional Council joined the Welcoming Cities Network. As part of Council’s commitment to being a Welcoming City, the Welcoming Cairns Exhibition will showcase diverse stories of our migrant residents, and those who are doing the important work of welcoming them.
The Welcoming Cairns Exhibition seeks to celebrate diversity in Cairns and foster feelings of belonging, cultural pride, and community spirit. The exhibition will provide an opportunity for locals and migrants of all backgrounds to get to know each other and explore the diverse narratives that make up our city.
Across a variety of artistic mediums, the exhibition tells the multicultural success story of Cairns, and showcases the unique traditions, celebrations, and perspectives each culture brings to this region. Join us to explore the vibrant diversity of Cairns and celebrate all our achievements as a proud Welcoming City.
