Tanks Arts Centre - Tank 4
LAUNCH: 6pm Friday 26 May
Paradise Palette is a kaleidoscope of colour and pattern, blending tribal motifs with a range of contemporary subjects and themes, revealing the outstanding talent of Papua New Guinea’s mostly self-taught artists.
Paradise Palette supports contemporary artists from Papua New Guinea through the exhibition and marketing of their artworks, creating opportunities to develop their talents, build cross-cultural partnerships, and promote regional tourism.
Paradise Palette has its origins as a not-for-profit exhibition at the Royal Queensland Art Society (RQAS) Petrie Terrace Gallery in Brisbane in 2017. An exponential increase in the number of participating artists and visitors to the gallery has resulted in the exhibitions becoming an annual event at the RQAS gallery, curated by Don Wotton. A MoU signed with the PNG National Cultural Commission in 2022 enables the exhibition to now travel to other centres within Australia.
