History behind the name
On 15 August 2018, this park was renamed from Hart Park back to Shaft Street Park, it's original name (named after the street that it is on). On the same date, Merv and Ethel Hart had another Edmonton park on Wiseman Road West named "Hart Park" for their contributions to the community.
