The Cattana Wetlands is around 80 hectares of degraded land which Council has rehabilitated into a nature conservation park. The wetlands are open everyday from 6:00am to 6:00pm. Facilities available are BBQs, picnic areas, toilets, bird hides and a 420m boardwalk through the feather palm forest. Being a nature conservation area, dogs are not allowed at this park.
History behind the name
Named after the Cattana family who owned and farmed the property here. The family donated this land to Council on the understanding that it would be turned into a wildlife reserve.
