Council provides a range of sport and leisure facilities for Cairns residents to get outdoors and be active. We maintain 520 parks and reserves, 200 playgrounds, and over 500km of walking paths and cycleways. We also provide support and facilities for around 400 sports and recreational clubs across Cairns.

Green Gyms are outdoor exercise stations usually installed in parks or on foreshores.
Green gyms are visible from the road, this clear line of sight will make you feel safe when using them.

Go Clubs
Go Clubs is your one-stop-shop for community club support within the Cairns region! This Council initiative guides community clubs through a professionally-managed club development program. It links existing programs from various agencies and provides professional assistance for all aspects of running a successful local community organisation, including:

Active Living Program - free fitness program
Our Active Living program offers free exercise and well being classes in different locations across Cairns.
All classes are delivered by qualified trainers. In addition to our well-established Esplanade program we are now also offering classes in Brinsmead, Edmonton, Gordonvale, Mooroobool, Redlynch, Trinity Beach and Yorkeys Knob - proudly brought to you by Cairns Regional Council and PHN.
