Book a public space
There are many public spaces - parks, gardens, reserves, beaches, community halls and sporting fields - across Cairns that are popular locations for events and activities, such as weddings, celebrations and parties.
You will generally need to obtain Council permission to use public areas for events and activities. Terms and conditions apply for use of each public space. You may be required to pay fees and charges ( PDF, 0.03 MB ), hold insurance and comply with other conditions including but not limited to vehicle access, safety and security, cleaning and waste removal, noise levels and noise restrictions, public notifications, food and liquor licensing, filming and photography etc.

Types of activities conducted at Barlow Park include, athletics, rugby league/union matches, soccer matches and school carnivals.
