Cemetery search map not working
We are having technical issues with our cemetery search. You can still search our Cemetery database to find a burial site however the map functionality which helps pin-point where the burial site is, is not working.
We apologise for the inconvenience and are working to resolve this as soon as possible.

- Use our cemetery search to find the location of family or friends buried or inurned at one of our cemeteries.
Arranging a funeral
Arranging a funeral service can be a difficult experience for many people. You should engage a Funeral Director to arrange all aspects of the funeral including burial options (in a new or existing grave site) and cremation options. You don't have to phone Council to arrange anything; your Funeral Director will make the necessary arrangements with us on your behalf . Your funeral director can also organise a celebrant and other religious services.
Council cemetery attendants dig the grave and arrange for facilities to be available at the funeral service, such as a grave lowering machine, temporary shelter, lectern and chairs.
- Please see the local telephone directory for a list of local funeral directors.
Council does not organise cremations. You'll need to speak to your funeral director or a local crematorium.
Headstones, plaques, monuments and bases
Your funeral director can organise this for you, or alternatively you may want to get quotes from monumental masons. It can take several weeks after a funeral as some manufacturing takes place interstate; but could be longer depending on the section and cemetery.
Council staff endeavour to maintain our cemeteries to the highest possible standards, but families are responsible for repairs to tiles and granite cracks from wear and tear over time.
Note: Council needs to approve all headstones, monuments and plaques to ensure consistency and the overall amenity of the cemetery.
Reserving a site
Purchasing a grave site in advance allows you to select a site of your own choice. It means your family won't have to make this decision at an extremely emotional time and ensures your wishes are carried out.
Reserving also secures the site costs at today's prices. Please note an internment fee is payable at the time of a funeral.
