RADF Major Round

RADF Major Round One is open from 9am Monday 28 September and will close at 5pm Friday 30 October 2020 for projects that can start 15 January 2021.

All applications for the RADF 2020/21 Program will be required to complete a Risk Assessment Questionnaire ( DOCX, 0.27 MB ) as part of their submission to ensure all proposals have considered government-issued COVID-19 public health guidelines.

The RADF 2019/20 Program is open.

All out-of-round quick response grants are now open and both the RADF Major Round 2 and City of the Arts Hero project grants will open Monday 27 April and close at 5pm Monday 25 May 2020 for Projects than can start from 1 August 2020.

The Cairns Regional Council Major Grant Round is broad, encompassing and includes all arts streams. This category offers support towards projects and programs that create vibrant arts and cultural experiences, including but not limited to:

  • performances and exhibitions
  • increased skills and professional development opportunities for artists
  • new works that extend artists and art forms
  • community arts and cultural development
  • initiatives that strengthen cultural tourism and enhance cultural programs

Round One opens in September 2019 for projects that can start in January 2020. Round Two opens in April 2020 for projects that can start from 1 August 2020.

Applicants are able to apply for up to $10,000.

How to apply: step by step

Applicants should download and save the Major Round application form, rather than working on it within an internet browser. Please use only Adobe Reader DC to save and work on these fillable forms on your computer. Adobe Reader DC runs on both Windows and Mac, and is free to download from www.adobe.com/au

  1. Read the RADF Guidelines ( PDF, 0.39 MB ), Eligibility Checklist ( PDF, 0.23 MB ) and Frequently Asked Questions ( PDF, 0.33 MB ) to determine whether your project is eligible for funding.
  2. Have a strong project idea in mind for funding and work out  the timeline of your activities in line with the grant round and guidelines.
  3. If there are others involved in your project, make sure they are available and willing to participate within the project’s timeframe.
  4. Download and read the Major Round application form ( PDF, 0.66 MB ).
  5. Call or email the RADF Liaison Officer (Council’s Arts and Cultural Grants Coordinator) with details of your project.
  6. Fill in the application form and gather all of the required supporting material including quotes for any grant funded expenses; eligibility checklists for each artist involved; verification of rates of pay; support letters; CVs/Resumes etc.  Remember to also calculate and include any in-kind contributions according to verified sources of rates of pay.
  7. Contact the RADF Liaison Officer (Council’s Arts and Cultural Grants Coordinator) one last time to make sure you have all of the required application material and your budget is correct.  Check that your expenditure column total matches your income column total.
  8. Submit your application and all of the required supporting material via the methods below.

A reply email will be sent to you on the next business day after the closing date, confirming receipt of your application.

Deep Roots was an exhibition showcasing the latest discoveries from the Lit Sung Gong Temple collection (Feb 2017 to Jan 2018). It was a collaboration between Cairns Museum and CADCAI.
