Flame.Arts, a capacity building program delivered by Cultural Services, creates pathways for emerging creatives through mentorships, skills and career development across the arts.
The program responds to priorities identified in consultation with the local arts and cultural sector including the development of pathways for further education and employment in the cultural industries, which is recognised as one of the top five challenges in our region. Flame.Arts has been created to align with Cairns Regional Council's Strategy for Culture and the Arts 2022.
The initiative is divided into five arts streams, as detailed below. Under each category, current and future opportunities, are listed:
- Flame.Music live performance and development opportunities
Flame.Arts Access - Leg Up Grants
These small grants, of up to $1,000, aim to assist people with disability, young people and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists and creative practitioners to develop projects of an arts and cultural nature within our region, or further afield (or for individuals or organisations developing projects that specifically target/benefit one or more of the above groups).
