In accordance with Stage 1 of the Queensland Government's road map for easing COVID-19 restrictions, a number of Council facilities and venues will re-open from 16 May 2020.
The status listed below will remain in effect until further notice. Users should adhere to physical distancing measures (1 person per 4 square metres), good hygiene practices, be vigilant of 10-person limits and follow the direction of any signage.
- Cairns Libraries
- Public pools at Gordonvale, Smithfield, Tobruk and Woree*
- Barlow Park (casual athletics only)
- Playgrounds (including Muddy's, Fun Ship and Centenary Lakes Nature Play), skate parks and bump tracks
- BBQs - due to large number of sites, this will be a staged roll-out over the weekend 16-17 May
- Outdoor gyms, tennis courts and public basketball courts
