Responsibilities: Creative venues and facilities including Tanks Arts Centre and Cairns Performing Arts Centre; arts and cultural development including the Culture and the Arts 2022 and the associated online tool Arts and Culture Map, Regional Arts Development Fund and Cairns Festival; delivery of sport, recreation and leisure facilities and services including caravan parks, camping grounds, swimming pools, footpaths, cycleways, Cairns Botanic Gardens and Sugarworld Parklands, volunteers program Green Space Our Place; management of Cairns Esplanade, Munro Martin Park; provision of library services; community development services focussed on multicultural, youth access and inclusion and the First People’s Advisory Committee.

  • Parks: public usage, planning and improvements, Sugarworld, playgrounds, dog agility areas
  • Recreation: public usage, paths, cycleways, walking trails, beach lifeguard service, campgrounds, public swimming pools, recreation centres
  • Community Services: Hambledon House, Men's Sheds, community service providers
  • Sport: club development, sports facilities, Barlow Park, sporting precincts
  • Natural areas: Cattana Wetlands, Sugarworld Gardens, community gardens, Green Space Our Place program
  • Esplanade: public usage, Lagoon, Muddy's Playground, skate park precinct, volleyball and multi-court area, event bookings
  • Libraries: public usage, programs, events, facilities
