High praise for engineering expertise

Council's engineering achievements were recognised at the 2018 Institute of Public Works Engineering Australia Queensland (IPWEAQ) Excellence Awards.

The Centenary Lakes Nature Play facility was highly commended in the "Projects under $2 million" category, and the Lake Street Car Park redevelopment was highly commended in the "Projects $5 million to $10 million" category.

Council engineer Natasha Murray claimed the top "Woman in Engineering" award in recognition of her technical achievements and contribution to the field of engineering.

The annual IPWEAQ awards program celebrates the projects delivered for Queensland communities and the people who deliver them.
