The Cairns Ecofiesta is Queensland's premier sustainability festival, a free-entry event held on the doorstep of two World Heritage areas - the Great Barrier Reef and Wet Tropics Rainforest.

The city’s tropical Munro Martin Parklands comes alive with performance, hands-on workshops, local food and family fun. Explore clean tech, chat with experts in the net zero transition and wander through market stalls offering sustainable living solutions.

You'll be inspired by our local leaders and leave with new skills for a lighter impact on this important environment.

Stay tuned for the 2024 program announcements!

Queensland's Day to Celebrate Reef Resilience

The 2024 Ecofiesta will feature a Reef Resilience Showcase:

  • Join Dr Karl, Australia's favourite science communicator, and Dr David Wachenfeld, lead scientist of Australian Institute of Marine Science, with a Q&A about the Great Barrier Reef and Climate Change!
  • Hear first-hand how First Nations leaders care for land and sea Country, and how you can help.

The Reef Resilience Showcase is funded by the partnership between the Australian Government’s Reef Trust and the Great Barrier Reef Foundation.

When better to celebrate our State's international wonder, than Queensland Day?

Sponsorship opportunities

  • Corporate sponsorship: Align your brand with the values most important to Far North Queenslanders - environment, sustainability and liveability - with a corporate sponsorship. Reach thousands of people on the day of Ecofiesta as well as brand recognition in pre-event signage, media and advertising. Opportunities are still available for major sponsors.
  • Social enterprise sponsorship: The Cairns Ecofiesta sponsorshop model includes opportunities for a non-profit organisation or social enterprise to provide in-kind support in return for marketing, fundraising and brand alignment opportunities.
