The Youth Urban Art Project is designed to celebrate local youth, beautify public spaces and encourage young people to consider opportunities in the arts and cultural industries.

Come and celebrate the artistic journey of local youth who designed and beautified their local public spaces through exciting mural works at Trinity Beach, Redlynch, Gordonvale, Manoora and Woree.

The project is facilitated by professional artists with involvement of young people aged 12 to 25 years and is made possible with funding support from the Australian Government’s Building Better Regions Fund.

Cairns Youth Week 2019

Cairns Youth Week 2019, 3 to 14 April, celebrates the achievements, vitality and strength of our young residents aged 12 to 25.

It provides opportunities for young people to enjoy fun, positive and accessible events and activities that celebrate the many strengths and talents of youth in our region.

Cairns Regional Council invites community service providers, clubs or organisations to apply for grant funding to support the delivery of Youth Week activities that:

  • Celebrate and foster the contribution, achievements and talents of Cairns youth; and
  • Encourage young people's participation by creating fun and interesting events and activities and involving young people in planning, running and promoting initiatives.

For more information, visit Council’s community grants page or contact the Community Services Officer on 4044 3447.
