InkFest - A Festival of Printmaking

The Department of Industry, Innovation and Science is providing workshops to tourism businesses in Northern Australia that focus on practical strategies and actions to improve your online marketing strategy.Learn how to reach and convert more customers to direct bookings using current and emerging technologies in online marketing.The Cairns workshop (sponsored by TTNQ) will use live examples to demonstrate best practice online marketing strategy and will cover:the eight fundamentals for growing direct marketing onlinefree and low cost online tools that simplify and organise online activitiesonline strategy and planning.Workshops will run for four (4) hours and morning tea will be provided.The workshop will be presented by David Inches from Inspired by Marketing. On Sunday 15 May 2016, more than 20,000 people and their dogs will walk in Queensland to show their support for animals in need.The RSPCA Million Paws Walk is a great day out for the whole family - with entertainment, stalls, delicious food, competitions, give-aways and a whole lot more! And Council will be there to answer any of your pet-related questions.Regardless of the breed, size or age of your dog - everyone is welcome - as long as they are fully vaccinated, friendly and well socialised. No four legged friend? No problem! Sydney Writers' Festival - Live and Local

Live and Local is the biggest project of its kind and is in its second year running. In partnership with the Tropical Writers’ Inc., two interactive events featuring the festival’s best authors and thinkers will be beamed live into Tanks Art Centre. Audiences will be able to participate in Q& A sessions as they happen and send questions directly to their literary heroes. The live-stream program includes: • Bob Brown’s memoir and new photographic book is proof that even politics can’t jade him or diminish his passion, activism or wit. He shares his love of Australia, nature and his belief in people power with ABC RN’s Ellen Fanning. (22 May; code 263) • Shakespeare has had a deep influence on Paul Kelly’s work and now finds form in his stunning new album Seven Sonnets & A Song.
