Great Barrier Reef Masters Games

The Great Barrier Reef Masters Games was first held in Cairns, Queensland in 2013. Now in its third Games, the Masters will be held from 25 to 28 May 2017.

Cairns is the ideal location to host the Games, being one of Australia's most popular holiday destinations with a myriad of local attractions, dining, adventure sports, reef activities and entertainment within close proximity to the city centre.

2,000 masters-aged men and women from Australia, Oceania and South East Asia are anticipated to compete in 20 individual and team sports across the four days of competition with sports for all masters ages and interests.

No masters would be complete without a fantastic social program and 2017 promises something for everyone. Activities include a welcome march past, Fluro Friday event and Summer-Lovin Saturday! This year's entertainment line-up includes three DJ's, a party night with Adam Thompson, from the Aria Award-Winning Australian Band Chocolate Starfish. With Adam at the helm as the band's iconic front man, Chocolate Starfish earned two top ten singles and two top 5 albums with hits such as 'You're so vain' and 'Mountain'. Popular Masters band Dr Elephant and best-voted band of the 2015 Great Barrier Reef Masters Games, Sanchez are set to rock the stage over three fantastic nights.
