The East Pointers
Venue Tanks 5 - On sale now
This Canadian trio are becoming increasingly popular on the festival scene (Woodford 2015, WOMADelaide 2017). Their high adrenaline, roof-rattling free-wheeling instrumental jigs, stomps, exhilarating reels and heart-breaking harmonies have made them torchbearers for a new wave in traditional music.
Guitarist Jake Charron, Tim (fiddle) and Koady Chaisson (banjo) make traditional music seem ridiculously hip. A performance monster, their shows are described by their fans as energetic and transcendent, and by their critics as technically brilliant and innovative.
The trio’s excellent debut release Secret Victory, was penned mostly in Australia in 2015, and features beautiful original and traditional songs. Whether they’re carving up a living room, local pub, or summer festival, The East Pointers are sure to have you two-stepping with a smile on your face.
