Commercial recreation activity permits

Commercial Recreation Activity is any activity conducted wholly or partially for the purpose of sport, entertainment, education, tourism or recreation in the Cairns area which is carried out on a commercial basis on public or Council owned land. Examples of commercial recreation activities include rafting tours on the Barron River or walking tours at Babinda Boulders.

A person must not operate a commercial recreation activity upon public land without first obtaining an approval from Council under Subordinate Local Law No. 1 (Administration) 2011, Schedule 8 - Commercial use of local government controlled areas and roads.

There are fees applicable to a Commercial Recreation Activity Application and Permit.
