Munro Martin Parklands

More than a year in the making, the newly redeveloped Munro Martin Parklands (MMP) opened to the public on Sunday 14 August 2016.

Munro Martin Parklands (MMP) is Cairns' newest community gathering place complete with an outdoor performance space. The Parklands boast tropical plantings, vine covered pergolas and arbours and an open-air plaza to encourage passive, casual use of the facility.

The venue is also equipped to host a wide range of shows and since its opening in August 2016 performances have ranged from Queensland Opera’s Barber of Seville, to the new circus of Circa, Grammy Award winning Soweto Gospel Choir and the contemporary music of Passenger.

Survey results from the first three events have shown very high community satisfaction with 99% happy with the new venue and 94% satisfied with their overall experience on the night.

Munro Martin Parklands is open to the public from 6am to 8.30pm, seven days a week except on ticketed event days.

When attending events at the Parklands, please be sure to dress appropriate to the weather and be considerate when using umbrellas as they can hinder the view of other patrons.

Angus & Julia Stone ON SALE MONDAY 27 NOV, 9AM

With Special Guest Angie McMahon
Friday 4 May 2018

  • 5pm gates open
  • 7pm show starts

Currently playing to full houses in the US, following a sold out European and UK tour, Angus & Julia Stone announce the extension of their 2018 Australian metro dates to a huge nationwide run through regional centres in April and May.  Joining them on the road as special guest is powerhouse Melbourne singer-songwriter Angie McMahon, with her bold vocals and beautiful guitar tones.

Crisp and fresh as the Snow that frames their latest record, new singles ‘Chateau’ and ‘Snow’ seep slowly and beautifully into our national consciousness. The softly spoken siblings fourth studio effort is shooting up the charts with a huge ARIA debut at #2, a feature album on triple j and over 9 million streams collectively between the two lead singles on Spotify.

Having grown up coated in the sun soaked sand of Sydney’s Northern Beaches, Angus & Julia Stone are no strangers to the delights of an Australian summer. Their tunes have always carried that unmistakable sepia glare to them; sending Angus’ smooth alto and Julia’s more wistful soprano into the top 10 of the ARIA charts for all four of their records to date. ‘Big Jet Plane’, ‘Heart Beats Slow’, ‘And The Boys’ and many more have made the jump from festival favourites to bona fide classics.

Now is your chance to see all of your new favourite songs live – make sure you get in quick!
