History behind the name

Named after the road it adjoins.  Draper Place, Whitfield is named after Norman P Draper, a well known business manager and brother to AJ Draper a Cairns pioneer involved in the building of the "Cairns to Herberton" railway, local government, the Cairns Show Association, Fire Brigade Board and Cairns Garrison Battery.
