National Science Week is an Australian Government initiative held in August each year. Together with James Cook University, the Tanks Arts Centre hosts a number of science events that are focused on science education and sustainability issues that are unique to Far North Queensland.
FUTURE EARTH (2017 school theme)
Future Earth was launched in 2015 as a major 10-year international initiative. The aim is to increase awareness and offer the youth of today the opportunity to contribute to possible solutions through science to the world's growing concerns of sustainability.
Future Earth’s 2025 vision addresses eight key challenges to global sustainability. For more information on how your school can be involved in National Science Week events, including school grant support, visit www.scienceweek.net.au/schools
