Rates, fees & charges

Council raises the majority of its revenue from rates levied against residential and commercial properties. It spends those resources on delivering more than 200 quality services, facilities and infrastructure - from waste management, water supply, road construction and maintenance to town planning, environmental management, libraries and sport and recreation facilities. Under the governing Local Government Act, numerous regulatory responsibilities are devolved to Council by the Queensland Government.

At the Special (Budget) Meeting held on 23 June 2014, Council adopted Differential General Rates for 2014-2015.

A list of Council's rates categories can be found in the General Rating Categories Statement for 2014-2015 ( PDF, 4.68 MB ). The category of your property is listed on the front of your rate notice together with your land use code. (Note: a printed copy of this statement was included with the half-year rates notices mailed to all property owners in July 2014.)

Previous years' Budget documents, including Revenue Statement and Rates and Charges, can be viewed in the Publications & Reports area.
