Council raises most of its revenue from rates levied against residential and commercial properties. This revenue funds more than 400 services and functions - from water and sewerage, to roads, parks, libraries and leisure facilities. Under the Local Government Act, numerous regulatory responsibilities are devolved to Council by the Queensland Government.
The 2016-2017 Differential General Rates were adopted at the Special (Budget) Meeting on 27 June 2016.

Council offers you the convenience of receiving your Rates and Water Usage Notices by email. This is an opt-in service. You will need your assessment number/s to register.

Fees and charges
Council's statutory fees and commercial charges are set each financial year.
Note: Following a review of Council’s fees and charges, a new Fees and Charges schedule was adopted on 12 October 2016. The adopted Fees and Charges Schedule for 2016-2017 ( PDF, 1.05 MB ) will come into effect on 31 October 2016. All current fees and charges remain in place until that time.
