Rates payment options

Half-yearly rates payment due 1 September 2015

Ratepayers have until close of business on Tuesday 1 September 2015 to pay their half-yearly rates notices.

If you have not received your rates notice by Friday 7 August 2015, please contact Council.

Available payment options are listed below. Interest charges will apply to late payments.

Opt-in to receive your Rates notice by email

Council now offers you the convenience of receiving your Rates and Water Usage Notices by email. This is an opt-in service. You will need your assessment number/s to register.

Online Payments Logo  Online Payment
Payment can be made through Council's Online Self Service, using your assessment number as a reference number with your Visa or MasterCard. Payment of rates can be made in full, for future rates, smaller payments can be made in advance at any time.

Contact your bank or financial institution to make payment from your savings or cheque account (credit card facilities are not available).Please quote Biller Code 49346. BPAY can also be used to make smaller advance payments.

Payment can be made in person at any Post Office.  You can make smaller advance payments for rates and water at any time at Australia Post (credit card facilities are not available).
Secure Pay logo  SecurePay
Payments can be made through Securepay using your Visa or MasterCard. From Australia, call 1300 760 002. For overseas callers please dial your country's International Access Code +61 3 9697 5703. Calls within Australia are charged at local call costs with higher rates from mobile and public phones. International calls are charged at the applicable rate. 
Mail Logo  Payment by Mail
Remove the bottom section of your rates notice and mail with your cheque or money order to Cairns Regional Council, Rates Department, PO Box 359, Cairns QLD 4870. Cheques must be made payable to Cairns Regional Council and marked 'Not Negotiable.' Acceptance of a cheque is subject to collection of the proceeds. Post dated cheques will not be accepted.

You can make payment at any of Council's Customer Service Centres using cash, cheque, EFTPOS, Visa, MasterCard or money order.
   Direct Debit
To make regular weekly, fortnightly or monthly payments from your cheque or savings account towards your next rates notice, complete a direct debit form. Financial Difficulty

If you are having trouble making full payment by the due date, please contact Customer Service to discuss a payment arrangement on 4044 3044.
