Biosecurity program supported

17 May 2017

Council will step up its monitoring of invasive pest species through a proposed Biosecurity Surveillance Program.

Following legislative changes, Council is required to develop a surveillance program to improve its ability to manage pest weeds and animal species.

Under the proposed program, Council officers can enter private property to survey pest species.

The Infrastructure Services Committee today recommended the program be endorsed.
