Council operates and supports many community markets across the region, showcasing local businesses and the unique wares that Cairns has to offer. The markets are a great day out for all ages, locals and visitors alike.

Last Sunday of the month, April to November, 9am-2pm along Collins Avenue, Edge Hill.

The monthly Tanks Markets feature stallholders, musicians, food and refreshments. Entry is free so come and wander the leafy promenade, explore the site and take in the atmosphere. The Tanks Markets are managed by Cairns Regional Council.
Note: Tanks Markets stallholder applications for 2024 have now closed.
Casual Stallholder Applications are currently open
This form is to be used for stallholders who wish to apply for a casual stall at the Tanks Markets. Casual stallholder applications are considered on a wait-list basis and are subject to availability.
Not-for-profit stallholders
We support local not-for-profit (NFPs) organisations by offering free stalls at the Tanks Markets in 2024. Bookings are limited and provided on a first-in first-serve basis.
- A not-for-profit organisation is defined as ‘Any local organisation club, state or national organisation, who holds incorporated status under the Associations Incorporations Act 1981, or is a company limited by guarantee under the Corporations Act 2001, and does not operate for the profit or gain (either direct or indirect), of its individual members, either from ongoing operations or on its winding up.’

Buskers
Can you see yourself in the spotlight? Buskers contribute to the vibrant and lively atmosphere of the Tanks Markets and Council welcome the opportunity for local entertainers to perform at each monthly market.
Buskers are encouraged to perform from 1 – 5 hours at the markets at the Tanks Arts Centre precinct, in Collins Avenue, Edge Hill. There is no cost to busk at the monthly markets.

Carnival on Collins
Sunday 1 September 2024 from 9am to 3pm at Collins Avenue, Edge Hill
Carnival on Collins, a regular Father's Day tradition, attracts visitors and locals to the city's Botanic Gardens and Tanks Arts Centre precinct for a giant day of family fun. Featuring loads of free entertainment for people of all ages, it's a slice of life in the tropics, with 200+ market stalls offering local art and craft, produce, plants, food and refreshments.
Carnival on Collins stallholder applications will open in May 2024.
