Baby Rhyme Time is held on the 4th Tuesday of each month. Storytime sessions are held on the 1st Wednesday of each month. Please contact library staff to make a booking. For a full listing of all branches take a look at our Events Calendar.
A comfortable conference area ( PDF, 0.07 MB ) with state of the art air-conditioning is available for hire. It accommodates up to thirty people.
The library also hosts facilities for people with visual impairments - an electronic magnification machine allows the viewer to magnify documents which can then be further manipulated and magnified. A scanning reading device has also been set up - an item can be scanned and then the user will be able to hear the document read. Another exciting feature is the CD Select listening station. This station enables you to listen to a pre-selection of CDs. The listening station is adjacent to the café bar. The café bar is the perfect place to read the latest edition of your favourite newspaper or magazine, listen to your choice of music and enjoy a refreshing cup to coffee.
Manunda Library has 19,594 items in its collection including DVDs, CDs, newspapers and magazines. In 2011/12, 265,356 people visited the library, borrowed 161,482 items and placed 24,640 reservations.
Cairns City Council opened Manunda Library in January 1992. It was then located outside the Festival Fair Shopping Centre (now Raintrees). It was the first of our library branches to be located within a shopping centre. In March 2008, it was expanded and relocated to inside Raintrees Shopping Centre complex.
Featuring the latest in information and library technology in an exciting, modern setting. It is the fourth-busiest of our libraries.
