Future Babinda
The Babinda Task Force, in partnership with Cairns Regional Council and the Babinda Chamber of Commerce, will deliver the Future Babinda project as part of a local series of economic development initiatives following the closure of the Mill.
Funded by Council and Maryborough Sugar Factory Ltd, the project is supported by the Babinda Task Force and Babinda Chamber of Commerce. It has been developed and delivered as a community partnership initiative.

- expansion of the RV site at Rotary Park
- improved signage in and around Babinda
- progression of the Master Planned area
- a digital economy project.
