Botanic Gardens Precinct

Location: Collins Avenue, Edge Hill, Cairns

The Cairns Botanic Gardens are renowned for having one of the best exhibitions in Australia of tropical plants including specimens from Northern Australian rainforests and notable species from Southeast Asia.

It's a veritable tropical paradise.

The precinct encompasses the Tanks Art Centre, carefully converted World War 2 oil storage tanks that have grown to be an iconic, innovative, multi-use, contemporary arts facility.

On the final day of the Festival, the entire streetscape along the gardens will erupt in market stalls and activities for the ever-popular Carnival on Collins.
