Winning Float 2016 Image: Winning Float, Our Lady Help of Christians School, 2016

To encourage and support Parade participants in creating and building a float, free workshops will be on offer again this year.

Facilitated by experienced theatre producers skilled in set, costume and prop design, Simone Tesorieri and Simona Cosentini participants will learn about concept development, float and costume design, make up and overall float construction.

In the second workshop experienced local sound and lighting technician, Sam Gibb, will offer simple tips in technical design and set up of your floats (you could have music, lights, even projectors) and also how to ensure floats are safe for all participants.

The opportunity to work with international theatre producers and technicians is a rare treat and something we encourage all parade participants to make the most of.

The workshops will take place in Tank 3, Saturday 1 April and Saturday 22 April and will run from 10am to 4pm each day. To register your interest, please email or call 4032 6656.
